2026 Points Series

Everyone, Everywhere, Every Distance

A different approach to a Points Series. There will be 2 main categories, Male and Female, no age groups, and NO E-BIKES. Must be a GRAVEL RACE. No minimum or maximum number of races. No specific races, but Premier Races benefit the participant with double points.

For 2026 we have added Clydesdale and Athena categories. In addition, we will have the Fat Tire and Junior categories that were added in 2025. These categories will have a registration fee of $20 and do not include the opportunity to win FREE or discounted race entries. It does include your opportunity to win trophies, swag bags, and your private invitation to the Champions Celebration.

Register at any time throughout the year, but your points will not count until AFTER your registration. No retro results.

Your Registration

The $25 fee for registration will include your chance at the championship. You are not locked into one distance. Your registration will allow you to compete in EVERY distance.

Gravel Races

Points will be awarded for your Overall Male or Female finish at ANY GRAVEL RACE, ANYWHERE. However, we have a schedule of Premier Gravel Races where double points may be earned. Since we have membership internationally, you may race anywhere, at any distance, and participate in this series.

Race Reporting

Race results reporting is the responsibility of the participant. Participants must report their results to ILGR with a verifiable source, such as a timing service or results documentation. Results must be reported within 2 weeks of race completion AND by November 1, 2026.

Awards

1st Male and Female in each distance will receive a custom Champion jersey, awesome trophy and 11 FREE entries to Premier Races in 2027.

2nd Male and Female in each distance will receive an award and 50% off entry to 11 Premier Races in 2027.

3rd Male and Female in each distance will receive an award and 25% off entry to 11 Premier Races in 2027.

All winners will receive incredible swag bags.

EVERYONE who registers for the Points Series is entered in drawings with more prizes throughout the 2026 race season!!

Points

1st Overall = 500 points
2nd = 495
3rd = 490
and so on.

101st place overall through infinity will receive 5 points for completing ANY gravel race.

50 points are earned if someone signs up for the Points Series and you are listed as their referral.

10 points are earned for every race that you start and list ILGR as your team.

More referrals, more points. More listings of ILGR as your team, more points.

Junior Category

Junior Category will be a Trophy category. The Top 3 places will receive awards, swag and an invite to the Champions Celebration. This will be a Coed division covering 12 years old and under. One distance category of 24 miles or less. The same point standard will apply. Premier races will be worth double points. Your points will be determined by Overall Junior placement. In the event of a tie, your Premier Race points will be the determination. This category is a separate registration fee from the standard Points Series. You may enter both.

Fat Tire Category

Fat Tire Category will be a Trophy category. It will be a Coed division that will encompass ANY age. Any distance between 1-49 miles will be the category. Top 3 will receive awards, swag and an invitation to the Champions Celebration. The same point standard will apply. Premier races will be worth double points. There must be a Fat Tire Category for your points to be awarded in this category. Your points will be determined by Overall Fat Tire placement. In the event of a tie, your Premier Race points will be the determination. This category has a separate registration fee from the standard Points Series. You may enter both.

Clydesdale & Athena

Clydesdale and Athena Categories will be a Trophy category. Any distance between 1-49 miles will be the category. Top 3 will receive awards, swag and an invitation to the Champions Celebration. The same point standard will apply. Premier races will be worth double points. There must be a Clydesdale/Athena Category for your points to be awarded in this category. Your points will be determined by Overall Clydesdale/Athena placement. In the event of a tie, your Premier Race points will be the determination. This category is a separate registration fee from the standard Points Series. You may enter both.

Clydesdale definition for ILGR Points Series is Male weighing 220 lbs. or more. Athena definition for ILGR Points Series is Female weighing 165 lbs. or more. It will encompass ANY age.

To allow more people to enjoy our Champions Celebration, we will offer the opportunity for you to purchase tickets to attend. This process allows EVERYONE who wants to share in these special moments to be included.

Point Series

Your point series questions answered. Here are common questions our participants ask.

Yes, you can register and compete in multiple categories within the I Love Gravel Racing Points Series. This allows you to accumulate points across different categories throughout the season. Each category has its own registration fee, so you'll need to register separately for each category you wish to compete in.

For any qualifying gravel race event, you may submit your race results through our contact form for consideration. Points are automatically tracked through your race registrations and results at the 13 premier races in the series. You don't need to submit a separate race report. When you register for and complete races at any of the qualifying events (like Thunder Bay Thriller, Cedar Blitz, Rode To Hell, etc.), your results are recorded and points are automatically calculated based on your finishing position. Just make sure you're registered for both the individual race AND the points series through BikeReg.
